Gautam buddha birth place-lumbini

Light of asia know as siddhartha gautam buddha was born in nepal on 623 b.s place called lumbini was the holy place of buddhists.innumerial buddhist visit here every year.There is a ashoka pillar set up by Emperor Ashoka in 245 b.c.

This site also has puskarini pokhari,maya devi temple and a beautiful garden.

There were thirteen countries including nepal to form lumbini development master plan in 1970 a.d. A very attractive stupas, monasteries, viharas, libraries, a museum and a research centre have been constructed after that. Lumbini was enlisted in world heritage sites in 1997 a.d.
